Parc Sovereign Hotel Tyrwhitt: Chic, Affordable Hotel in Singapore

Deluxe Room Plus Bed - Parc Sovereign Hotel Tyrwhitt

Singapore — IN A SEA OF expensive hotels to choose from when in this city, you would still find some that would fit the budget without sacrificing the comfort that you deserve.

We did find some.

After days of comparing notes, checking online reviews, and considering the budget for a hotel to book for the last three days of our 10-day Singapore-Indonesia escapade earlier this March, we picked Parc Sovereign Hotel in Tyrwhitt. It was to complete the escapade on a high note.

Okay. This chic, modern but affordable hotel is not as grandiose as the most expensive hotels here but it did not fail us though we were ready to either be surprised or be disappointed.

Just to give you an idea, we spent our first days in a nice residential home in this country, followed by three refreshing days in Indonesia.  So the challenge was for our last three days in Singapore to end this trip strong and lovely, and a good hotel stay plays a vital role in having one.

Considering how overpriced some Singapore hotels are, Parc Sovereign Hotel Tyrwhitt offers a nice room for as low as $100 (around P3,500). This is pretty much cheap considering their near city center location. It is near Lavender MRT station (Green Line), and is just a few steps away from the bus stations.

Hotel Lobby

The hotel features 270 WiFi ready rooms in total, and there are several room types to choose from. We are booked at a De Luxe room with balcony, which is pretty much enough for two persons. Each room features a flat-screen cable TV, safe, desk and refrigerator.

Sorry, our bed got messy. But isn’t it the perfect view of a great morning? When staying at Parc Sovereign Hotel Tyrwhitt, opening the glass door will give you a view of the neigborhood, and a cool Singapore air by the balcony. – TravelMore Photo

The balcony provides an extra space perfect for a heart to heart talk with a special someone over a bottle of wine and some food. Guests could also relax at the outdoor swimming pool by the roof top. It also has a fitness center for the fitness buff.

Garden

How about a me time or a serious talk with your special someone by the balcony? And yes, it is a garden too.

Near the pool

Read your favorite book by the pool area before or after a good swim.

For other room types, this is what Parc Sovereign Hotel Tyrwhitt’s Loft Room looks like.

Though Parc Sovereign Hotel has its own restaurant at the ground floor, food enthusiasts could find a lot of Hawkers (food courts) that serve local food choices around the area. A 5-minute walk through Lavender would bring you to Hongkong’s famous Michelin-star restaurant, Tim Ho Wan that closes at 2am.

Not too far from the hotel is the ethnic enclave of Little India and the 24-hour Mustafa Shopping Centre. A few MRT stations away are Kwan Im Thong Hood Cho Temple and Bugis Junction. Changi International Airport is one MRT-ride away but booking an Uber ride from the hotel to the airport, we spent only around SGD$20 (P660). Going to and from the hotel by public transport is very convenient. A trip to universal studios is easy. Marina Bay is two MRT transfers away.

Staying in a nice hotel while in Singapore should never be a problem. Booking at Parc Sovereign Hotel Tyrwhitt in advance might just give you an even better deal. For hotel promos, click this link.
