Pampered! Staycation at Pan Pacific Singapore

Pan Pacific Singapore - hotel panorama

Singapore — JUST STAYING IN THE HOTEL for more than 24 hours when in a foreign land sounds crazy but for this tired soul in me, it was one of the best treats I’ve ever given myself while in Singapore.

The past eight days of non-stop strolling, meeting friends and fellow Filipinos over a cup of coffee or a sumptuous meal, trying local foods, visiting Singapore’s tourist spots, and a lot more physical activities has taken a toll on me.

So on my ninth day in this posh city, I decided to just stay in our hotel, Pan Pacific Singapore, to have some rest, and enjoy the hotel amenities, its various food choices, and the awesome feeling of being alone as it rarely happen when I am in Manila.

Cozy, Beautiful Room

Love my room, Pan Pacific Singapore’s Harbour Studio, which offers a view of Marina Bay.

Waking up in a room not yours but as homey, and comfortable when outside your country’s zone is every traveler’s dream, I guess. In Pan Pacific Singapore, my dream came true. And it is like a cake with a beautiful icing on top — I get to wake up with the amazing view of Singapore’s Marina Bay area greeting me. We’re staying in one of the hotel’s 700+ rooms, Harbour Studio at the 26th floor.

The soundproofed room has a King-sized bed, a huge bathroom with shower and bubble bath, a super cool mini-bar area, and a wide working table — it’s just perfect for me whose agenda in Singapore include business. Most of the days of my 10-day stay in the city are spent in meeting clients, and in doing business presentations for my PRU Life UK business. Pan Pacific Singapore was a perfect choice. No wonder the hotel is touted as World’s Leading Business Hotel by World Travel Awards. It is just a five-minute walk from SUNTEC Convention Center, five-minute walk from Esplanade MRT, and 20-min drive from Changi Airport.

It was during these times that I wanna stay inside my hotel room for days. I am serious.

The Pacific Club Lounge

When in Pan Pacific Singapore, and you have an access to its Pacific Club Lounge, staying inside your room 24-7 is a bad idea. Located at the 38th floor of the hotel, breakfast for Pacific Club Members is also served here from 6am to 10am. In the afternoon, the lounge is open from 3pm to 5pm for the Afternoon Tea, also free for club members, and those who are staying at their premium rooms. An hour after the tea time, it opens its door for the Cocktail Night wherein house blended drinks are served.

Pacific Club Lounge is a nice place to discuss with either friends or a partner new ideas or plans over meals, or enjoy simple exchange of stories with your favorite cocktail drink at hand. Then let the panoramic view of city skyline, Marina Bay area, the West Philippine Sea, and the neighboring Malaysia and Indonesia just in front of you, waiting to be captured in photos or simply be remembered for life.

Intagrammable servings of food such as this French Toast is part of the breakfast menu at the Pacific Club Lounge. The photo was first posted on this writer’s Instagram account.

Aside from the sumptuous food selection and the view, what I liked about this lounge is the personalized service. The staff, including the lounge manager seem to have perfected the art of giving quality service to their guests, that’s why I really enjoyed dining in here.

There was one time that we ordered Egg Benedict, French Toast, and Pancakes — only to be mesmerized with the nice presentations, so it took us a lot of time taking photos for our Instagram accounts. When we realized that we needed to eat, I took a bite of Pancakes. Then the staff approached us to ask if there’s something wrong with my Egg Benedict cause I haven’t eaten it yet, to which I answered “none.” The staff said it’s already cold, and no matter how I tried saying it was okay, he insisted of replacing it with a new one so I could enjoy it better. The manager also approached me, and explained about it.

Their sincere gestures is one of the reasons I am blogging about them now. Definitely a perfect score from a satisfied guest.

The lounge doesn’t only speak of exclusivity, and class. It is an epitome of a 5-star hotel service. [More about Pacific Club Lounge in our next post.]

Dip, Relax by the Pool

For someone whose swimming is part of life (though not a sport), a view of a river, the beach, or the pool is already a treat. Though the view of the pool here is already a found beauty, especially if seen from the hotel’s outdoor glass elevators, dipping is an activity that should be given its own time. I loved swimming here, and taking selfies. Had a morning and night session.

Make sure to take a dip after breakfast, before going back to Pacific Club Lounge for the Afternoon Tea. Or after the Afternoon Tea session before going back to the lounge for the night cocktails.

Rejuvenate at St. Gregory Spa

It was hard to find time for an hour of massage or a good body scrub session in between meal times, but the hotel’s St. Gregory Spa is waiting for anyone who would love to find time to relax, or be pampered even more.
Located at level four, the spa offers services massage, facials, and Traditional Chinese therapy.

When in staycation, the service is best done at night before going to bed. But if you’re conscious about the budget, they have a promo with SGD30 savings on all ala carte treatments from Monday to Thursday between 11am to 4pm.

One’s 24 hours is actually not enough to try, and enjoy a stay here. But these activities are enough to reward oneself from time to time. Since our stay here was longer, we got to try a lot of things, especially their wide array of food selections from their various restaurants. We’re blogging about our Sunday Champagne Brunch experience at THE EDGE in a separate post.

As per Tricia Quak, the hotel’s marketing communications manager whom we met together with their marketing director, Annie Choy, the hotel is also the best place to stay during New Year’s Eve, and several special occasions such as the Grand Prix. The room offers a great view of these exciting events. But occupancy during special occasions is very high so make sure to book your room/s early. Check out their website for best deals so you could plan the staycation you deserve.

Note: For Philippine residents, Cebu Pacific flies from Manila to Singapore daily. Check out cebupacificair.com for tickets and schedule.
